NZ Government mandated Tyrewise Scheme
As a retailer of Motorcycle and ATV Tyres, we are required to comply with the Tyrewise Scheme introduced by the government. https://www.tyrewise.co.nz/
The change means that we no longer charge a disposal fee on any end of life tyres at any of our workshops.
We are required instead to charge a "stewardship fee" on the sale of every new tyre, as well as a fee for each tyre sold on new vehicles.
This fee cannot be discounted, removed, or built into the cost of the tyre and must be visible on invoices.

What is Tyrewise?
Tyrewise is the product stewardship scheme accredited by the Government to manage end-of-life tyres. It enables tyre importers and sellers to take responsibility for the environmental impact of their product when it reaches the end of its life.
The scheme’s role is set in regulation and in a number of contracts or deeds with the Government. These contracts or deeds are held by the not-for-profit Product Stewardship Organisation, Auto Stewardship New Zealand, which governs Tyrewise.
